Rates

I am deeply committed to making my services accessible to everyone, which is why I’ve adopted a self-determined rate model.

Human Connection Coaching combines education, reflection, goal-setting, and practical tools to create meaningful, positive changes in your life. It’s important to me to offer this transformative work to historically underserved populations while also maintaining my own well-being, so I can provide the best possible support to all my clients. To achieve this, I’ve implemented an anti-oppression rate structure, commonly known as a sliding scale. This approach allows redistribution-range clients to help sustain my ability to offer lower rates for those who need them most.

The following is a list of questions taken from N. Oumou Sylla, LMFT.

Please read through with pen and paper and tally your answers to determine your payment tier. Your work will not be checked - this is a self-selection process. This is meant to be a guide, not a prescription. You know your financial reality better than any person or any scale. This can be an opportunity to examine your resources.

  1. Are you and your family homeowners or landowners? (This question does not apply to those who are Native or Indigenous)

  5. Are you able to make payments on bills or credit cards?
  6. Do you experience housing security or stability?
  7. Do you work part-time by choice?
  8. Do you work for less pay by choice?
  9. Do you experience ease when paying bills?
  10. Do you have a relatively high degree of earning power due to your level of or kind of education (or gender and racial privilege, class background, etc…even if you are not currently exercising your earning power, I ask you to recognize this as a choice)?
  11. Do you have access to residual, gifted, supplemental, or passive income?
  12. Have you been able to easily access and afford health insurance for yourself?
  13. Do you have income generating assets (real estate, investments, stocks)?
  14. Do you have zero to no debt?
  15. Are you able to financially manage your debt?
  16. Do you have a safety net composed of “financially stable” or wealthy family and friends?
  17. Do you have access to a network of wealth?
  18. Do you have U.S. Citizenship?
  19. Do you have the ability to choose to work or not?
  20. Does your income only support you, and not other loved ones?

  22. Have you (or could you have attended) college and/or graduate school?
  23. Have you attended private education institutions or do you have an advanced degree?
